PrioLas' 760nm single-mode VCSEL are designed for oxygen sensing by Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS) and operate over a wide operating temperture range.
The typical wavelength can be chosen between 759 nm and 766nm @2.0mA, 20°C. The wavelength tolerance is specified at +/-1 nm.
Emitted output power versus laser current for chip temperatures ranging from 0°C to 80°C. For temperatures up to 80°C output powers above 300 µW are obtained for laser currents below 2 mA.
Wavelength versus laser current for chip temperatures ranging from 0°C to 80°C. The wavelength can be tuned over 4 nm.
Typical optical spectra of the 760 nm single-mode VCSEL over laser current and temperature range.
The VCSEL die (center chip) is attached on a Thermo Electrical Cooler (TEC) which is mounted on a TO39 header. The surface temperature is measured by a Thermistor (left chip). ESD protection is given by a Zenerdiode (right chip). The TEC enables a wide temperature tuning range. To reach 80°C only 150 mA@0.45V have to be applied.
PD current and second derivative of the PD current when sweeping the laser emission wavelength across 2 adjacent absorption lines of O2. The absolute wavelength is controlled by temperature and bias current, the sweep is done by ramping the laser current from 1.3 to 1.7 mA.
760, 761, 763 and 764 nm single-mode VCSELs in TO39 w/ TEC and TO46 are available from stock.
